The ever popular infamous Pinnacle Guinea Pig races are a classic part of the festival weekend. This is a great family event and attendees of all ages will enjoy it. The races attract guinea pigs from far and wide, to compete in not only flat racing but hurdles racing as well, on the hallow 10metre pinnacle track.
Gates will open at 11am, racing will commence at 11.30am and highlights will include Lions club BBQ, jumping castle, soft-serve ice cream van, wood-fie pizza , tea/coffee, home-made scones with jam/cream and bar facilities. Also international renowned bush balladeers duo Jason & Chloe Roweth will provide live entertainment. Entry is $5 per adult children under 12years are free.
The racing is located at Milroy’ Hoctors Road Pinnacle 30 minutes north west of Grenfell. Well signposted from Main Street, Grenfell. Money raised is donated to local charities.
You can bring your own guineapig to race or just observe. nominations are free.
The number of races is dependant on the number of entries - every entrant will get to race their guineapig. A short track is set up with grandstands for the visitors. Races are both sprint as well as hurdles races will almost any trick in the book allowed to get your guinea pig to the finisher’s line first.
